Walcott is not the answer.
We are struggling to buy very good players and I agree Walcott can be that on his day but please no. Not sure of his best position and we need a striker not a winger. Vote leave... Walcott alone. And vote leave crappy EU.

It's the kids, OM. They, er, FORCE me to play FIFA16 on their x-box. Bobby Brooking (that'll be me) is the greatest manager we've ever had. The signing of Bolasie helped win the CL, which gave enough cash to splash on Ronaldo.

I can also say Tore is the business, but Batshuayi did not pull up any weeds, let alone trees.

Pass all this on to our scouts.

Bobby Brooking signed him for West Ham on FIFA16, and he has been a revelation. His place is well under threat, though, from a certain C.Ronaldo.

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
He's probably scored more premier league goals for Arsenal than any player we've ever had (in our colours only) and that's without being played up top too often.

My only issue would be if the price was too steep, as Wenger isn't a mug and wouldn't have played someone 250 times if they were shit.

I'd still try and sign BOLASIE from Palace.

I would have had him in front of RAHEEEM any time... in fact has he not scored more International goals from Midfield than the whole of the England midfield squad put together??

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
Well, it seems he's too good for England, so I suppose he'd fit in well with our lot.

Nope not with all the SKY dosh coming in... have to face facts that the majority of that money is going into players and agents pockets...

As crazy as it now sounds £100k a week isn't a lot to pay.

He would improve our squad, I'd take him.

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
If you forgive his last season he's actually a pretty good forward.

He wasn't that bad last season... 13 goals ... and a lot of them coming on as rub-a-dub... he's stale there... get him out and give him a new challenge.. he'd be superb under Bilic...

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
It's a funny thing with Walcott. If you forgive his last season he's actually a pretty good forward. For many seasons he kind of saved Arsenal tbh. He had a pretty decent record between 2010-2013. I think his injury messed it up for him. One thing I will say is that he is always the calmest player on the pitch. He doesnt put his head down when he misses, he just keeps going on like he's in a trance or something.

It;s just the 110k a week thing is bonkers. He got that because he was a clean cut, figurehead for arsenal, not because of ability.

He would need to take a little salary drop and a performance based salary to move on from Arsenal. I cant see how any club could afford him to be part of their 25 on that money. We already have nightmares about the dough Caroll's on.

He cannot stay at Arsenal either, it's career suicide. If Vardy or Morata comes along with Giroud he will not get a game there at all. 80k+ bonuses and I'd take him.

Not sure what your point is here. Arsenal spend around £100M MORE than us on salaries. £166M v £64M.
Walcott is on circa 110K per week, roughly in line with Payet.
Do you really think we should spend a large transfer fee to secure him and then pay second highest wages in the club to him?

We are nowhere near top table and have to be careful with every penny spent, plus on creating the right atmosphere within the club.

Bacca allegedly wants half this fee as a salary.

We can do as well at half the price.

Epsom
Are you serious?
Are you one of these plums that had got ahead yourselves on believing we are top table?
Get a grip

Walcott would be an coup for us..because I know my stuff

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
I believe we can do a lot better from a player and cost perspective. Not saying that he could not do a job for us, just feel that wages and transfer fee (as pointed out by others) means he does not represent top value.

Prepared to wait and see, the club have recruited well over the past two close seasons. We are no longer run like a circus as Nobes stated.

With the Euros, Copa, Olympics, there will be a lot of top players not available at the very start of the season and wondering how much that factors into the recruitment plan.

We need to hit the ground running for the Europa League, Lanzini, Payet, Valencia, Ogbonna will probably be missing due to recovering from respective tournaments.

Wonder if this is factoring into the planning by the Club?

Nothing helps team morale like buying a bloke for cover who's on 5 times more than the players he's covering

Re: Walcott is not the answer.
I find myself in agreement with Soldo. I think that under a proper manager like Bilic, Walcott could turn out to be an undiscovered gem.

And more than a decent back up for The Beast Antonio.
